2010 Calendar of Events

Spring Fling,  March 20th 2010   Western Reserve Racquet Club               7pm-11pm

Fun round robin tennis--all levels welcome.  Cost is $10 per person for members $15 for non-members plus an appetizer to share.

Opening Social,  May 22nd   6pm - 8pm

Held on the grounds of Western Reserve Academy in the atrium of the Murdough Athletic Center, this event is a great way to meet new members and connect with old friends.  This kicks off the Tennis Club season--all are welcome cost for this event is free; bring an appetizer to share.

Following will be held at the Western Reserve Academy Courts. 

Mondays, May 31 - August 13                9am                                      Senior's Doubles

Tuesdays, June 1 - August 13                  9am                                      Women's Doubles

Wednesdays, June 2 - August 13            6:30pm                                  Women’s Doubles 

Thursdays June 3 - August 13                 6:30pm                                  Men’s Doubles 

Fridays June 4 - August 13                      6:30pm                                  Men's Singles

                                                                   6:30pm                                  Junior's Tennis

Sundays June 6 - August 13                     5:30 to 7:30pm                      Mixed Doubles

For mixed doubles, come with a partner or alone.  

Adult drills on Saturdays 6/26, 7/3, 7/10, 7/17, 7/24, 7/31, 8/7 ($10 per hour)

9 - 10am: level 2.5 - 3.0

10 - 11am: level 3.5 and above

Junior drills on Mondays 6/21, 6/28, 7/5, 7/12, 7,19. 7/26, 8/2 ($10 per hour)

3 - 4pm: beginners

4 - 5pm: intermediate

June 12 and June 19     9am - 12pm                          Grab Bag Tournament   

Warm up 8 - 8:45am - tournament: 9 - 12 am.

Players are paired randomly with other tennis club members for a fun mixed doubles round robin. Winners advance on to Finals on July 4.                                                 

Sunday  July 4              9:30am to 1pm                      Grab Bag Finals and Cookout

Rain day July 5

Sunday July 18          9:30am to 12pm                            Cinderella Tournament                                                                                        

Ladies bring a shoe! Random draw mixed doubles round robin. Come and enjoy the tennis and fun.

Sunday August  1           4pm                                         Annual Open   

This is a casual Sunday evening tournament. Sandwiches and drinks provided.  Mixed doubles.

Saturday September 4  9:30am to 1pm                      Club Championship & Cookout                                             

Season closing event offering Mixed Doubles, Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles, Women's Singles and Men's Singles.  You pick your own partners for this competitive event.
